Deputy Minister Huynh Van Ti welcomed the delegation of people with meritorious services from Ba Ria – Vung Tau province
(LĐXH) In August 31st 2016, at the at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Labours – Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), Deputy Minister Huynh Van Ti had a cordial meeting with the delegation of people with meritorious services from Ba Ria – Vung Tau province in the occasion of their Hanoi trip. Deputy Director of the Department of People with meritorious services Do Thi Hong Ha also attended the meeting.
The delegation had 80 members, including invalids, sick soldiers, people who joined the revolution, martyrs and invalids’ relatives. Mr.Nguyen Minh Phuong, Deputy Director of Department of Labours-Invalids and Social Affairs was leader of the delegation.
Ba Ria – Vung tau province has 8 administrative units with 82 wards, communes and towns. After 2 wars, the citizens and officials together overcome war consequences and difficulties to build and develop a better life in peaceful time. In the present, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has nearly 27,000 policy objects. There are 69 senior officials in revolution time; 93 pre-uprising staff; 1026 Vietnam Heroic Mothers (47 mothers are alive); 4310 war invalids, sick soldiers, and beneficiaries of policies for war invalids; 8056 martyrs; 1,426 activists in revolution time arrested by the enemies ... Many offices and agencies have responded actively to campaigns of taking care of Vietnam Heroic Mothers, martyr lonely parents, fostering martyrs’ children. Currently ,47 mothers was looked after by the agency units with amount of subsidize of 1,000,000 per month or more.
Since 1995, the province has build 1353 Gratitude houses which costed about 31.33 billions VND for Vietnam Heroic Mothers, parents of martyrs, war invalids,… Annually, Gratitude Fund also helped to built, repaired the gratitude and supported people in policies who have disadvantages or terminal illness with a budget of about 3 billions VND.
Collecting and bringing martyrs’ remains to martyrs’ cemetery is a big focus on current work to deploy post-war policies. The province now has 07 martyrs monument, 18 stele of martyrs, 35 martyrs temples, 04 martyrs cemetery which were renovated and embellished. Implementing Decree No. 31/2013 / ND-CP, the province has moved hundreds of remains of martyrs from the provincial martyr cemetery and cemetery of martyrs in Dat Do district to hometowns as prescribed. At the same time, they also collected 2 new martyrs’ remains and received 8 martyrs’ graves from other provinces, increased the number of martyrs’ graves to 5492 graves since 1975.
Many delegates expressed their greetings when they had chance to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and being welcomed by Government officials.
After asking about health conditions of group members and listening to opinions of the delegates, Deputy Minister Huynh Van Ti appreciated the contribution of people in Ba Ria- Vung Tau province during slashing wars in the past, also obliged what the leaders of the province did to support people with meritorious services in local.
Next, he also mentioned about some information of Party‘s policies about people with meritorious services. ‘’I am so glad that these policies had reached people with meritorious and their families in this province. However, besides the achievements, we have to deal with a lot of issues such as fake profiles from people who want to receive benefits from policies for people with meritorious services. On the other hand, there are a lot of people in policies who are waiting for being confirmed having contribution in the revolution but we have not handled these cases clearly. Furthermore, we have to continue to look for and bring back martyrs’ remains, reveal their identities so that their relatives and families can take them home….’’ – Deputy Minister shared his thought with the delegation.
In the near future, the Ministry will continue to research and listen to further opinions from locals to build and apply Law for People with meritorious services. Moreover, Deputy Minister also suggested the Department of Labours – Invalids and Social Affairs of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province to continue their effort in implementing policies and supporting for people who contributed to the revolution in right time, right people.
On this occasion, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry, Deputy Minister Huynh Van Ti and Deputy Director Do Thi Hong Ha has sent gifts, greetings and wishes of good health to the injured, sick soldiers and their relatives. They also hoped the delegates to continue to promote the revolutionary tradition of the family, contribute to the protection and development of the country.
