The hospital treats over 323,000 outpatients and nearly 70,000 inpatients each year, he said.
** At the Xa Dan secondary school which is dedicated to hearing impaired children, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung hailed Hanoi for its achievements in child protection, care and education, especially for poor and disabled children.
Though Vietnam is the first country in Asia and the second in the world to sign the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, there are still 2.5 million children living in especially difficult situation, he said.
The Minister Dao Ngoc Dung expressed his emotion and appreciation the school has made great efforts in caring and educating students in general and students with disabilities in particular. He also praised Hanoi city has paid close attention and achieved many achievements in the work of protecting, caring and educating children, especially well implementing 4 groups of children's rights.
The Minister proposed Hanoi City and other branches and levels to create more conditions for the Xa Dan school to successfully complete its tasks.
The Minister hoped that the municipal authorities will offer all possible support to the school to fulfill its assigned tasks.
Rector Pham Van Hoan said the school now has 28 classes from preschool to secondary levels with 496 students, 343 of them are living with disabilities.He added that the school will strive to meet national standards in the near future.
On the occasion, Minister Dung presented five television sets and 100 million VND as gifts to the school.
