Towards establishing bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Italy on labour
(LĐXH)- On August 22, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) Le Van Thanh received and worked with Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco della Seta and Advisor to the Italian Prime Minister Francesco Petricon to discuss bilateral cooperation in labour, social security and vocational education.
Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh emphasized that economic cooperation is a bright spot in the relationship between the two countries. Vietnam is Italy's largest trading partner in ASEAN and Italy is Vietnam's fourth largest partner in the EU.
In addition, cooperation in culture, education, science and technology, tourism, people-to-people exchanges and many other fields continues to develop positively.
However, at present, the MoLISA has no bilateral cooperation with Italy, while this is an area with great potential for cooperation, especially in the sectors of employment, vocational education and social security.
Therefore, Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh suggested that Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Antonio Alessandro and Italian Prime Minister's Advisor Francesco Petricone pay more attention to promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of labour and society.
Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh emphasized that Vietnam's labour force is in the golden population period with 55 million workers.
At the meeting, Mr. Antonio Alessandro said that many Italian investors in the manufacturing industry are now operating effectively and successfully in Vietnam, including Bonfiglioli, Piaggio, Danieli, Datalogic, Ariston.
These enterprises are also contributing to vocational education in Vietnam through the transfer and transmission of experience and technological knowledge to Vietnamese people.
In addition, in terms of education and training, the two sides have signed and implemented many cooperation projects, and the Italian Government annually provides scholarships for Vietnamese students.
Advisor to the Italian Prime Minister Francesco Petricone said that on this trip, he wanted to learn more about aspects of Vietnamese society, as well as trends and career orientations of a society in the period of golden population like Vietnam.
He agreed that the two sides will continue to work together in the coming time to further strengthen the cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Italy in labour and society./.
