Vietnam and Finland promote vocational education cooperation
(LĐXH)- On April 25, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) Le Tan Dung had a meeting with Ambassador for Education of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland Marjiaana Sall on cooperation between the two sides in vocational education.
“The Vietnamese government considers vocational education development as one of the key areas for human resource development.
Vietnam's vocational education system has developed strongly in both quantity and quality, with more than 1,900 vocational education institutions, including 410 vocational colleges," said Deputy Minister.
At the event, Ms. Marjiaana Sall said that vocational training is a very popular option in Finland. More than 50% of students after graduating from high school have chosen vocational education.
Finland has an open vocational training system. Students after graduating from vocational schools can continue to study at higher levels such as university.
In order to achieve good results in training, each student will have an individual learning path. The teachers are also well trained in both teaching specialties and pedagogical skills. This also makes apprenticeships more attractive.
At the meeting, the two sides highly agreed to organize activities to link vocational education with businesses and the labour market, as well as connect Vietnamese vocational training institutions with Finnish enterprises in Vietnam.
Besides, Vietnam also wants Finnish businesses to be able to recruit and receive Vietnamese students who meet the conditions set forth by Finland.
In the coming time, MoLISA is expected to continue to improve the system of vocational education institutions, in which to develop high-quality institutions, key occupations and to establish national centers for vocational training and practice./.
