Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh receives Vice President of the European Commission

(LĐXH)- Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) Le Van Thanh had a meeting and worked with Mr. Margaritis Schinas - Vice President of the European Commission (EU) in charge of the European lifestyle sector, on October 22.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the European Commission's attention to issues related to social security and labor in Vietnam.
He said that the Party and State of Vietnam always pay attention to social security issues and affirmed: "Vietnam always sets the principle of taking people as the subject and root for social development. In particular, Vietnam does not sacrifice or trade the environment for mere development".
In the coming time, the Deputy Minister hopes that the European Commission will continue to help and support Vietnam to jointly remove obstacles and speed up the progress of project programs, thereby promoting cooperation between the two sides.
In response to the Deputy Minister, Mr. Margaritis Schinas expressed his joy at the development between the two sides in recent times and that the European Commission always considers Vietnam a friend and a trustworthy country in the region.
He shared that in order to further improve and promote bilateral cooperation, especially in preparation for the visit of the President of the European Union (EU) in 2025, the two sides need to focus on implementing international conventions, ILO conventions; promoting the cooperation program between the EU and Vietnam on decent work; implementing the agreed contents in the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA)...
In the future, the Vice President of the European Commission hopes that the two sides will continue to strengthen cooperation, aiming to upgrade the cooperative relationship between the two sides from a trade partner to a comprehensive strategic partner./.
