Minister Dao Ngoc Dung welcomed UNICEF Representative in Vietnam
(LĐXH)- On the morning of November 29, Minister of MoLISA Dao Ngoc Dung had a meeting and worked with Ms. Silvia Danailov, UNICEF Representative in Vietnam, on the cooperation plan between the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and UNICEF in the coming time.
At the same time, he thanked UNICEF for supporting Vietnam in general and MoLISA in particular in many activities, programs and projects in the sector of children.
The Minister highly appreciated the role of UNICEF Vietnam as the leading agency of the United Nations and international organizations in supporting children's work in Vietnam over the past nearly 50 years.
In particular, UNICEF has recently provided timely support to children and families affected by Typhoon Yagi in some northern mountainous provinces.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Silvia Danailov said that UNICEF highly appreciated the long-term and effective cooperation between MoLISA and UNICEF over the past time, demonstrated through the great progress in building and implementing many important policies and programs for children in Vietnam, especially strengthening the protection of children from violence and abuse, comprehensive development of children, perfecting social protection policies for children, developing social work and vocational training programs for adolescents…
Ms. Silvia Danailov congratulated Vietnam on the adoption of the Decree on social work, making Vietnam one of the four countries professionalizing the social work profession in the region.
UNICEF expressed its desire to cooperate with MoLISA to take advantage of important occasions to further promote children's rights, strengthen the child protection system; strategically integrate children's priorities and targets into the new socio-economic development plans of the country, sectors and localities for the period 2026 - 2030; and accelerate the approval of the Project Document between UNICEF and MoLISA - Promoting and Protecting Children's Rights.
The UNICEF Representative in Vietnam pledged to strengthen cooperation, support and stand side by side with the MoLISA in protecting children, developing social work, social protection, and comprehensive child development with the ultimate goal of bringing the best life to Vietnamese children./.
