(LĐXH) – In the first 6 months of 2024, the total number of Vietnamese workers working abroad is 78,640, reaching 62.91% of the 2024 plan. Besides maintaining existing markets, Vietnam will develop and expand high-income markets, consistent with the qualifications and skills of Vietnamese workers.
Improve the quality of Vietnamese workers working abroad under contracts
Assessing the situation of sending Vietnamese workers to work abroad in the first half of 2024, Mr. Pham Viet Huong, Deputy Director of the Department of Overseas Labour (under MoLISA), said in addition to the markets that are currently receiving many Vietnamese workers such as Japan, Taiwan (China) and Korea, a number of new markets are also in demand for Vietnamese workers, such as Romania, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Serbia...
In 2024, MoLISA aims to send 125,000 workers to work abroad, focusing on stable, high-income markets such as Japan, Taiwan (China), Korea, Germany...
To achieve the set goal, in the coming time the MoLISA will focus on improving the quality of Vietnamese workers working abroad under contracts. This is identified as a key task in 2024.
Along with that, the Ministry continue to stabilize and maintain existing markets and will develop and expand high-income ones, suitable to the qualifications and skills of Vietnamese workers.
To date, Vietnam has more than 600,000 workers working in 50 countries and territories. Each year, about 4 billion USD in foreign currency is transferred via official channels, not including other channels./.
