Labour market continues to recover in Q1
(LĐXH)- Acccording to the General of the General Statistics Office (GSO), Vietnam’s labour market continued to maintain recovery momentum in the first quarter of 2023.
According to the General Statistics Office, the labour market in the first quarter of 2023 continued to maintain its recovery momentum.
The labour force, the number of employed people and the average monthly income of workers continued to increase compared to the previous quarter as well as to the same period last year.
Besides, the unemployment and underemployment rates in the working age decreased compared to the previous quarter and decreased compared to the same period last year.
Specifically, the labour force aged 15 and over in the first quarter of 2023 was 52.2 million people, an increase of 88.7 thousand people compared to the previous quarter and an increase of more than 01 million people compared to the same period last year.
The number of employed people aged 15 and over was 51.1 million people, an increase of 113.5 thousand people compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 1.1 million people over the same period last year.
The average monthly income of employees in the first quarter of 2023 was VND 7.0 million, an increase of VND 197,000 compared to the previous quarter and an increase of VND 640 thousand compared to the same period last year.
The average income of workers in urban areas is 1.41 times higher than in rural areas (8.6 million VND compared to 6.1 million VND)./.
