Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha and representatives of relevant agencies of the National Assembly, Government Office, experts attended the meeting.

Over the past years, children has always been concerned by the Party, the Government and the whole society. In order to strengthen measures to ensure children's rights and interests and protect children, the Prime Minister has assigned the MoLISA to prepare a Directive on this field.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung affirmed that Vietnam is now considered by the United Nations and international organizations as a bright spot in the world for child care and protection. The Directive is not a legal document but an order from the Prime Minister to change the awareness and behaviors of the ministries, branches, localities and the whole society on child violence prevention and protection and child abuse. The Prime Minister's Directive will ring the alarm and raise stronger and more practical solutions to this problem.

The Minister stated that the MoLISA has cooperated with relevant agencies, a number of national and international experts to build the Prime Minister's Directive.

At the meeting, participants shared many contents in which highlighted the core role in child protection, including 2 main pillars were family and community. The family includes the parents and family members of the children and the community is composed of local child protection officers.

Delegates also proposed to prioritize prevention, early detection and prevention of violence and child abuse in the community. They emphasised the responsibility of the head and public morality were two key elements to ensure the effective implementation of children's rights and interests.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung thanked the participants for their comments and affirmed that the MoLISA will receive the comments from the participants.

The Minister assigned professional units to receive the comments and urgently prepare the content of the Directive to be submitted to the Prime Minister. Minister Dao Ngoc Dung emphasized the importance of this Directive that it could even guide the promulgation of the National Action Plan for Children period 2021-2030./.
