Minister Dao Ngoc Dung received the Chief Resident Representative of UNDP Office in Vietnam
(LĐXH)- On September 22, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) Dao Ngoc Dung had a meeting with Ms. Ramla Khalid - Chief Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Office in Vietnam to discuss cooperation activities between the two sides.
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung was pleased to welcome Ms. Ramla Khalid to visit and work at MoLISA and believed that with a lot of experience in the field she has worked at UNDP, her presence in Vietnam will promote the socio-economic development of Vietnam in general and the Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs sector in particular in the coming time.
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung said that the Government of Vietnam in general as well as MoLISA in particular appreciated the UNDP Office in Vietnam for its efforts to support and promote cooperative activities in research, evaluation and perfect mechanisms and policies on poverty reduction; develop multidimensional poverty standards; livelihood support for landmine victims; propose the content of the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021-2025.
In addition, the two sides also discussed cooperation programs in employment support for people with disabilities and mine victims, and assistance for vulnerable people.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Ramla Khalidi thanked the Minister for taking the time to receive the delegation.
She said that the cooperation activities between MoLISA and UNDP in recent times have achieved very positive results, including programs such as introducing toolkits and multidimensional poverty processes...
In the coming time, in addition to successful poverty reduction and social assistance programs, UNDP proposed that the two sides could coordinate to implement new projects related to employment support for people with disabilities and landmine victims; raise the voices of people with disabilities, ensure rights for vulnerable people.../.
