Minister Dao Ngoc Dung welcomed Head of Delegation of the European Union in Vietnam
(LĐXH) On June 27th, at the headquarters of Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), Minister Dao Ngoc Dung welcomed Ambassador Bruno Angelet, the leader of European Union (EU) delegation in Vietnam.
The Ambassador of EU discussed with the Minister about the preparation of Vietnam for labor commitments under the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Area (EVFTA) for the implementation of the Agreement. In addition, the EU ambassador also explored the possibilities of cooperation between two parties in the field of labor and society.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung emphasized that Vietnam would complete the Labor Law in line with Vietnam's international commitments. This content was stated by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in the Joint Statement of Vietnam - United States in late May 2017 during the official visit to the United States and will be repeated in the next coming visit to some countries in EU on the occasion of the G20 summit in Germany.
Vietnam's completion of the Labor Law in line with its international commitments also needs to respect Vietnam's political system. This is the content agreed between both sides when negotiating the Agreement.
MOLISA is willing to sit with the EU to agree on what work to do in the EVFTA roadmap and submit it to the senior leadership for approval. At the same time, it is hoped that the EU would also provide relevant financial and technical assistance to Vietnam in this process.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung and officers of MOLISA worked with Ambassador Bruno Angelet and EU delegation
On the possibility of cooperation between the two sides in the field of labor and society: For the vocational training sector, MOLISA suggested that the EU supported Vietnam (including technical and financial assistance) to strengthen national integration in the field of vocational education, skills development, sharing experiences of EU and ASEAN countries, contributing to the development of the vocational education system in Vietnam from now to 2020.
In social security sector, ensuring social security for people, especially vulnerable people is priority area of MOLISA and the Government of Viet Nam. Therefore, the ministry asked the EU to support the development of an effective and practical cooperation mechanism that meets the expectations of the Government of Viet Nam and donors for the promotion of a fair social security and development in Vietnam.
The Minister also emphasized that MOLISA would continue to improve the legal system, develop and implement some specialized law projects. The EU has a lot of experience in this area, so the Minister asked the EU to support the improvement of policies on development and management of human resources, employment and society.
