(LĐXH)- At the reception of the delegation from Plzen province, Czech Republic on August 21, MoLISA Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan affirmed that Vietnam is ready to cooperate with the Czech Republic in selecting and training Vietnamese workers to work in professions in demand of the Czech Republic, as well as in accordance with the laws of the two countries.
Speaking at the reception, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan said that the Czech Republic is a beautiful country with a developed economy, in which Plzen is a peaceful and ancient city of the Czech Republic.
“In recent times, the two countries have had very good political and diplomatic relations. The Czech Republic recognizes the Vietnamese community as an ethnic minority, which contributes to strengthening the relationship between the two countries and peoples,” emphasized Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan informed that in the period 2006-2008, the Czech Republic received about 10,000 Vietnamese citizens, of which about 2,000 were sent to the Czech Republic by Vietnamese service enterprises to work (work visa) and about 8,000 people came to the Czech Republic with business visas.
After this period, the Czech Republic implemented a policy of restricting the issuance of work visas to Vietnamese workers.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan suggested that the two sides speed up the development and negotiation of a Memorandum of Understanding on labour cooperation to resolve the issue of Vietnamese workers going to the Czech Republic to work, as well as to help strengthen cooperation in the labour field between the two sides.
The Deputy Minister proposed that Plzen province and the Department of Overseas Labour Management (under MoLISA) sign a Cooperation Agreement on sending Vietnamese workers to work in Plzen province. If this content is implemented soon, it will create conditions for Vietnamese workers to have the opportunity to work in Plzen province.
In response, the Governor of Plzen province acknowledged the contributions and integration of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic in general and in the province in particular.
He said that the large number of Vietnamese communities in Plzen has been an important foundation and bridge to help promote relations between the Czech Republic and Vietnam.
The delegation's visit to Vietnam this time aims to seek partners and opportunities for cooperation in labour.
