Minister Dao Ngoc Dung works with the Department of Employment
(LĐXH)- Minister of MoLISA Dao Ngoc Dung highly appreciated the efforts of the Employment Department in implementing its tasks over the past time.
Department of Employment Director Vu Trong Binh said that according to reports of localities, in 2020, the whole country has created jobs for 1.27 million people, reaching the target as planned for the period 2016-2020.
By 2020, the unemployment rate in urban areas reached 3.61% and the rate of trained workers reached 64.5% of which the rate of workers with diplomas and certificates was 24.5%.
In the field of employment, the Department of Employment has effectively implemented the Target Program of Vocational Education - Employment and Labour Safety in the 2016-2020 period.

Job and labour market fields have contributed to investment in capacity building for Employment Service Centers as well as counseling and job introduction for hundreds of thousands of laborers, successfully connecting jobs for thousands of workers.
The Department has promoted employment support through the National Employment Fund and preferential credit sources. As of October 31, 2021, the total loan source to support job creation was VND 29,881 billion.
This has contributed to creating, maintaining and expanding jobs for hundreds of thousands of workers, mainly in the agricultural sector, female workers and disadvantaged groups such as disabled workers, ethnic minorities, etc.
In the period 2016-2020, the labour market have been created synchronously, such as the legal framework, institutions and labour market. Labor market indicators continued to improve, including the quality of labour supply, the labour structure changed positively, income and wages improved, labour productivity and the competitiveness of the workforce raised.
Recently during the Covid-19 epidemic, unemployment insurance policies have clearly shown their role in supporting and stabilizing a large number of unemployed workers and reducing the burden of support spending from the state budget.
According to the general reports of localities, in the first 5 months of 2021, the number of people introduced to jobs was 64,816 people, the number of people receiving vocational training support was 8,637; the number of people entitled to unemployment benefits was 267,282.
Minister of MoLISA Dao Ngoc Dung welcomed the efforts of the Employment Department in the implementation of the task over the past time.
He suggested that the Department of Employment has to focus on thoroughly grasping the spirit of the Resolution of the XIII Congress; participate in building the Action Program of the Sector to implement the Resolution of the Congress in a practical, effective and proper manner as labor market development, flexible, unified and efficient.
“It was necessary for the Department to focus on developing human resources, promoting the labour force; improving access to services for the poor and disadvantaged people; taking the opportunity of the golden population and young workforce”, the Miniser added./.
