MoLISA requests support meals for Covid-19-hit people

(LĐXH)-The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) has just issued Document No. 2669/LDTBXH-BTXH to Chairpersons of People's Committees of provinces and cities those are under peroid of social distancing on implement emergency support measures for people facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
MoLISA requests localities to proactively support meals according to Resolution No. 68/NQ-CP and support essential products as prescribed in Decree No. 20/2021/ND-CP.
According to the MoLISA, the epidemic situation has been affecting the lives of people, especially the poor, social protection beneficiaries, low-income people, and workers working in areas under social distancing.
Currently, there are 23/63 provinces and cities nationwide that are under social distancing according to Directive 16/CT-TTg.
In order to ensure social security for people and workers, the MoLISA proposes to chairpersons of People's Committees of provinces and cities cities those are under peroid of social distancing to direct and implement the following solutions:
- The localities review and firmly grasp the situation of people and workers' lives in difficult circumstances; well implement the supplementary policy for the beneficiaries as stipulated in the Prime Minister's Resolution No. 68/NQ-CP and Decision No. 23/2021/QD-TTg; do not let any people lack food, clothing or essential goods.
- Mobilize the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations to organize channels to supply food essential goods to people under social distancing.
- The MoLISA also suggested localities to reduce electricity and water bills to people under social distancing.
- Localities proactively plan policies to support meals (minimum level of 50,000 VND/person/day).
- In case people have to move to their hometown, the MoLISA proposes the local leaders to support food, water and organize means of transport to bring people back; isolate them according to regulations./.
