Nearly 1.27 million workers receive housing benefits
Nearly 1.27 million workers have received housing rent allowances worth a total of 876 billion VND (37.4 million USD) as of August 15, according to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA).
It is estimated that 3.4 million workers are entitled to support under the programme, with total funding of 6.6 trillion VND (about 282 million USD).
Enterprises were required to submit applications for housing rent allowances for their workers to the authorities of the districts in which they are located by August 15.
To date, local authorities have received applications from nearly 73,000 enterprises representing over 3.4 million workers, of which nearly 2.3 million workers at 37,000 enterprises have been approved to receive the benefits.
The four provinces of Son La, Dak Nong, Ninh Thuan and Bac Lieu have completed the payment for all the workers who filed for the allowances./. NDO
