Nghe An and Quang Binh hold memorial, reburial services for martyrs' remains
(LĐXH)- The central province of Nghe An on May 24 held a memorial and burial service for the remains of 87 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who laid down their lives in Laos.

At the ceremony, a representative from the working delegation of the Lao provinces thanked the Vietnamese Party, Government, army and people for their wholehearted, valuable support for the Lao revolution, and volunteer soldiers and experts for their sacrifice for the national liberation struggle of Laos.
The Vietnam-Laos friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation will grow further in the time ahead, he believed.
Over the past time, Nghe An has closely coordinated with the three Lao localities in finding and repatriating the remains of 12,600 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during wars in Laos.
One day before, a memorial and reburial ceremony was held at the Ba Doc martyrs' cemetery in Bo Trach district, the central province of Quang Binh, for the remains of 16 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who fell down in Lao battlefields during wartime.
The remains were discovered and gathered during the 2023-2024 dry season by Team 589 under the Quang Binh Military Command with support from the authorities and people of Khammouane province.
The ceremony is the 45th of its kind that Quang Binh has organised to receive the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts repatriated from Laos./. VNA
