Over 85,000 employees went to work abroad under contracts in the first 7 months
(LĐXH)- The Department of Overseas Labour (Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs) said that in the first seven months of 2023, the total number of Vietnamese workers going to work abroad was 85,224 (29,712 female employees), reaching 77.48% of the plan in 2023.
Following markets are: Taiwan (China): 36,956 employees (11,006 female employees), South Korea: 1,799 employees (53 female employees), China: 1,024 male employees (02 female employees), Singapore: 800 male employees, Hungary: 802 employees (369 female employees), Romania: 537 employees (70 female employees) and other markets.
In July alone, businesses sent nearly 13,000 workers to work abroad under contracts.
According to the assessment of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, in the first 6 months of this year, activities of sending laborers to work abroad recovered positively.
The Department of Overseas Labour sets a goal this year to send 110,000 workers to work abroad under contracts.
From now until the end of the year, the Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs sectors will strive to effectively implement Directive No. 20-CT/TW dated December 12, 2022 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of sending Vietnamese workers to work abroad in the new situation.
At the same time, maintaining the stability of the existing foreign labour market, developing and expanding the high-income market, suitable for the qualifications and skills of Vietnamese workers.
In addition, strengthen the creation of sources as well as improve the quality of labour resources and protect the rights of workers working abroad under contracts./.
