Promotion on labor relations in companies with Korean’s capital in Vietnam

(LĐXH) – This is a part of the meeting between Minister of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and Mr. Kyung Shik Sohn, President of the Korea Employers Federation (KEF) in March 23rd
Attending the meeting were the leaders of the International Cooperation Department, the Employment Bureau, the Overseas Labor Management Department and the Office of the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung welcomed the President of the Korean Employers Federation to visit the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs on the occasion of the visit of the President of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam. In the morning, at Presidential Palace, a dialogue was hold between President Tran Dai Quang and South Korean President Moon Jae In. At the end of talks, President Tran Dai Quang and South Korean President Moon Jae Won witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, investment, science and technology , including the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on sending and receiving Vietnamese workers to work in Korea under the Employment Eligibility Scheme for Foreign Workers (EPS Scheme), approved by the Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and Mr. Dong Yeon Kim, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance of Korea.

Thank the Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung for the reception, Mr.Kyung Shik Sohn, President of KEF said that KEF was established in 1970 with the aim of promoting harmonious labor relations and developing Korean economy. Currently, KEF has 14 regional branches nationwide, gathering over 4,000 Korean enterprises, including big corporations such as Samsung, LG, POSCO ... In all countries, KEF enterprises always set the criteria that the business leaders must be the people of that country.
Mr. Kyung Shik Sohn apologized for some conflicts between some Korean medium and small enterprises with the employees in Vietnam recently
"Recently, Korean small and medium enterprises operating in Vietnam have caused some disputes with workers. As chairman of the Federation of Korean employers, I personally apologize for the incident, "- said Kyung Shik Sohn.

Talking with KEF President, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung said that Korea is now a strategic partner of Vietnam. With the efforts of the Government and business community of the two countries, the relationship between Vietnam and Korea has developed rapidly. Recently, Korea has become one of the leading partners in Vietnam in many fields.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung acknowledged the goodwill of KEF and asked them to propagate labor law among Korean employers in Vietnam and emphasize that the strict observance of Vietnamese labor law is a necessary premise for building and promoting harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in Korean enterprises in Vietnam.
