Recover and develop labour market on post COVID-19 pandemic: Minister Dao Ngoc Dung

(LĐXH)- On October 15, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) Dao Ngoc Dung chaired an online briefing with localities to urge the implementation of Resolution 68/NQ-CP, Decision 23/QD-TTg as well as Resolution 126/NQ -CP of the Government on supporting employees and employers facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

The Minister said that from July 1 to now, the Bank for Social Policies, Social Insurance and localities have implemented very urgently and drastically policies to support employees and employers in accordance with Resolution 68, Resolution 116 and Resolution 126.

However, the long and complicated disease has profoundly affected people's lives and jobs as very large numbers of people from cities and towns returned to the countryside that leads to the disruption of the supply chain in some parts, fields and locations.

This requires early restoration and development of the labor market, contributing to the recovery and development of the economy.

The Minister said that MoLISA is urgently developing a plan to restore and develop the labour market, which is a component of the Government's socio-economic recovery and development program.

Minister Dao Ngoc Dung emphasized that, due to the impact of the epidemic, workers' lives are still facing many difficulties, but in general, the coverage of basic policies has reached the people.

Up to now, Resolution 68, Resolution 116 and recently amended Resolution 126 have come into life and been recognized by the people. These policies have helped people overcome some difficulties in life.

The Minister asked the units of MoLISA to focus on reviewing the situation of labour, production and business under their responsibility to assess the actual situation of labour, employment and labour shortage situation, structure labour as well as labour transfer.

The units then propose solutions and policies to retain employees, attract workers to return to work and regulate the workforce.

The Minister also noted that it is necessary to pay attention to some subjects who have not yet received support policies. Besides, it needs to closely inspect and monitor the implementation of policies to support employees./.
