(LĐXH)- The Prime Minister gave a speech at the Conference "Grateful to people who contributed to the revolution and launching the Gene Bank (DNA) of unidentified martyrs", held on the morning of July 23 in Hanoi.
The Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that today's conference to pay tribute to people with meritorious services to the revolution took place in the midst of infinite sadness of comrades and compatriots across the country at the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
As an exceptionally outstanding leader of the Party and State, Nguyen Phu Trong always pays special attention to taking care invalids, martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
The Prime Minister affirmed that: “July 27 every year becomes a sacred day of celebration, imbued with the noble humanity of the Vietnamese people.
This is an opportunity for the entire people and army to express their remembrance, honor and gratitude for the great contributions of heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, families of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution”.
“We pay tribute to nearly 1.2 million outstanding people who bravely volunteered to go to war, fought heroically, and sacrificed themselves, many of whom stayed behind at the age of 18 and 20, leaving behind Many unfinished dreams and ambitions to set out for the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland, for the peace and happiness of the people", said Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister emphasized that with the country's development and achievements, the whole country must remember the heroic past, always be aware of gratitude and care for those who have sacrificed their lives for the country today.
The Prime Minister affirmed that over the past 77 years, the preferential policy for people with meritorious services to the revolution has been constantly researched, revised, supplemented and seriously implemented.
The lives of meritorious people and their families are constantly improved both materially and spiritually.
According to statistics, 99% of households with meritorious services have a standard of living equal to or higher than the general standard of living in the area where they live./.
