Vietnam-Laos strengthen cooperation on labour and social welfare
(LĐXH)- The 8th Vietnam-Laos Ministerial Conference on Labour and Social Welfare was held on December 5 Luang Prabang of Laos. Vietnamese Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and Lao Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Bay Kham Khat Thi Nha co-chaired the conference.

The cooperative relationship between the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam and the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Laos in particular is increasingly close and developing.
At the Conference, the two Ministers noted and highly appreciated the report on the results of the Senior Officials Conference on Labour and Social Welfare held on December 4 with many very practical contents on policies, vocational skills development program to meet the labour market, promote employment for workers and manage foreign labour issues in the two countries; digital transformation in labour and society; as well as policies for social protection subjects, people with disabilities, autistic children, the elderly and experience in building and operating Funds such as the Social Protection Fund, Children's Protection Fund, Gratitude Fund and mobilization of social resources.
The year 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of implementing the Labor Cooperation Agreement between the Governments of the two countries.
The two Ministers agreed to propose that in the coming time, the two Parties continue to focus on implementing the Agreement's contents, and increase the organization of technical meetings to serve the development of laws and policies of the Agreement of the two countries.
With the achievement, the 8th Vietnam-Laos Ministerial Conference marked considerable efforts on the cooperation in the sectors of labour, social welfare of the two countries in general, and the relationship between the two Ministries in particular.
It also marked 10 years of implementing the Labour Cooperation Agreement between the Governments of Vietnam and Laos, contributing to promoting the traditional friendly relationship and special solidarity between the two countries.
Closing the Conference, the two Ministers signed the Minutes of the 8th Vietnam-Laos Ministerial Conference on Labour and Social Welfare, focusing on the detailed content to implement the cooperation plan for the 2023-2025 period./.
